true enough, people.it is true.i laughed at the thought of my friends who smokes.and the funny thing was my father used to be quite a heavy smoker himself. (exactly the reason i am proud of him, he quited!). the conversation continues when my father told us about his story on the first time he started smoking.he told me that rokok dont even taste good and all, that it was bitter and all.and the thot of one of my friend used to try smoking it just for the sake 'learning by own mistake' hit me.so i asked my father's opinion about it.
i cannot recall which philosopher was quoted saying 'a person who learn by other's mistakes is wise. a person who watched others did the mistake but still do it is stupid'. but i think it is true.i mean,if you are aware the consequences of letting the door of your house unlocked at the middle of the night -which is the act of welcoming burglar with an open arms and a great, big hug-why would you still want to let the door opened? you know what is going to happen, so do you think you still want to risk your life and your properties by doing it?
maybe yes to you,but its a big no to me.
and maybe to that person, they dare to try to smoke because, to them, once they have a hands-on experience, if they did that thing we know is clearly wrong themselves, they will be the rightful one to forbid others from doing that mistake.but the worries that i concern the most is-if you tried smoking once and u noe it is bad,and later u like the feeling and u re addicted to do it gain, what'll happen?it is okay and healthy enough that u never break ur innocence before, and u r willing to do it just because u want to be the hero to save everyone?so that u can warn others not to do something bad because 'i did that'?
thinking about it through,my father triggered me to think.he =me to remember one event that had already touched on this issue in the Al-quran.well,yeah it was featured already,it was about Adam and Eve when they ate the forbidden fruit.Allah had already told them not to eat the fruit, that they will cause damage if they do.and they do not listen.God knows everything, and they still did not listen to Him.padahal,it is only sensible that if god forbid from doing something,u should listen.but they ate the fruit because the devils told them so.and it is foolish, indeed, they were exiled.foolish it is,so don't u think its pretty similar with the situation where they tell you smoking is bad but still u go ahead and do it because u want to experience it yourself?
and it the conversation was finished with my brother's line "learning from mistakes is wise.but if u make mistake to learn, that is just plain wrong".
