I am Miss Ashikin

cuma bukan sekolah rendah punya cikgu

Starting next week Monday, I am Miss Ashikin, the English teacher. Its a wonderful feeling to imagine yourself teaching in a classroom. I must admit that i do imagine how my ideal class would be, but only 4 or 6 percent of the dreams are beautiful. What i imagine the most is the worst part of teaching. You know, unruly students, the macho and buaya types, disobedient ones. I fill most of my time thinking what should I do when situations are not of the best life could offer. I am not a pessimist; I am only being realistic and realistically, life hasn't been sunshine and butterflies all the time. I am yet to see myself puking rainbows because life decided to be nice. Therefore I do expect my students to be, you know, like myself in school years back and not like little angels sent to me in Orakei High School. I am not comparing schools in Malaysia or shit like that. I was just blessed that one time ^^

So only on Monday we'll be given the information about what class we're teaching and related stuff. We managed to get an accomodation in the school compound so one less problem now. I'll still keep the room in IPBA but i will only be here on what? Weekends? Yep yep. We were glad to be closer to school. takdelah susah sangat nanti kan nak commute from school to ipba everyday. I cant imagine what time in the morning we would have to get up and ready if we stay approx one hour from school.  Phew

Oh. And. One more thing. I know that teachers are supposed to show authority, but there is a line between being authoritative and being rude. I understand that as a figure, we have to show students that we are in charge. But being in charge does not equal being rude. Being the teacher does not give you the licence to shout at people, to not sit straight, to not act professionally or act like you know it all. Most importantly, it does not give you the right to talk down to others. Respect people la kalau nak orang lain respect kau balik, susah ke?

Tapi to those who might worry i might start a war ke apa, don't worry I won't. Its not worth the trouble. I'll just try to be nice, get along with people and when i say no, i will make sure i am being as polite as possible.

p/s: Baru hari ni perasan diri sendiri xpandai bercakap Bahasa Melayu secara tatatertib
